What is Jewelers For Children?
JFC has been raising awareness and funds for children
whose lives have been devastated by catastrophic illness or life-threatening
abuse and neglect since 1999. Please join with the “Industry with a Heart" in
support of the work being done by JFC's charity partners. Since 1999, more than
$18 million has been invested in various programs to help this cause.
Jewelers For Children (JFC), formerly known as the
Jewelers Charity Fund for Children, was founded in 1999 by the U.S. jewelry
industry with the mission of helping children in need. Since its inception, JFC
has donated over $28 million to US and international programs benefiting
children whose lives have been affected by illness, abuse, or neglect. This
nationwide success is due to the continuing generosity of jewelry trade
organizations, jewelry and watch manufacturing companies, jewelry retail stores,
individual jewelry professionals, and jewelry consumers.
In 2006, JFC provided more than $ 4.5 million in
funding to charity partners, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Make-A-Wish
Foundation of America, the National CASA Association, the Elizabeth Glaser
Pediatric AIDS Foundation, Make-A-Wish Foundation International, the Jason
Program, the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps and the Starlight Starbright
Children's Foundation.

Manufacturers, retail jewelers, trade associations, watch companies and those
who provide professional services to the jewelry industry unite on behalf of
children.
Since 1999, more than $28 million has been
invested in special programs to reach children whose lives have been

Recently Jewelers for Children (JFC) raised a record
$5 million for 2006 and sold a record 2,400 seats for its annual charity event
June 4 in Las Vegas, coinciding with the JCK International Jewelry Show there.
The charity announced plans to donated $4.5 million of the money to charities
that benefit children who are victims of catastrophic illness or
life-threatening abuse and neglect.
The charity also announced that it, with De Beers,
will co-fund the Integrated Childcare Program in the Galashewe area of South
Africa. The program will fund the development of a support network to help
benefit the more than 1 million child-headed, parentless households in the area.
Through Make a Wish Foundation: In
October 2004, the Wish A State program was made available to Make-A-Wish®
chapters with funding for 157 wishes. Chapters were provided with materials to
help them facilitate local events and to help promote the program in their local
markets.
Through National CASA:
JFC's 'Champions for Abused Children' initiative and National CASA
(Court Appointed Special Advocates) association
provides critical advocacy services to abused and neglected children around
the country. In the first years of our partnership, JFC's support has
already brought hope and a better future to thousands of these children.
Through Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS
Foundation: Jewelers for Children has generously provided support
for training 23 Fellows representing the specialties such as allergy and
immunology, cardiology, emergency medicine, endocrinology, gastroenterology,
and infectious disease.
